Interactive Session on “Humans at Work” Held at HTRMS, Jalandhar on August 14, 2026
An interactive session on “Humans at Work” was held for the theologians of Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary (HTRMS), Jalandhar, focusing on the dignity, meaning and importance of human work in the light of Christian teaching, particularly Rerum Novarum.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Richard, the distinguished professional with experience as a Social Entrepreneur, Lead Consultant with the Quality Council of India under the Ministry of MSME, Lead Auditor for various Public Sector Undertakings, and Business Coach for government-school entrepreneurship programmes in Delhi and Haryana. He has also served as a member of the Delhi State Minority Commission Advisory Board and is actively involved in social initiatives.
The interaction highlighted that work is not merely a means of earning a livelihood but an important way of expressing human dignity and participating in God’s creative work.
Drawing inspiration from Rerum Novarum, the session explored the dignity of workers, the value of labour and the responsibility of society to uphold justice and human dignity in the workplace.
The speaker emphasized that work can become worship when it is performed with dedication, integrity and a spirit of service. Through our work, talents and responsibilities, we can glorify God and contribute to the building of a better society. At the end, Fr. Vianney expressed words of appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Richard.
The session provided the theologians with a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the Christian understanding of work and their future role in promoting the dignity of every human person.
