Walking in St. Monica’s Footsteps: Chandigarh Deanery Celebrates Faith and Family
The parishes of the Chandigarh Deanery came together in faith and gratitude to celebrate St. Monica Diwas, honouring St. Monica, the devoted mother whose unwavering prayer, patience, and trust in God continue to inspire families and mothers in particular.
The celebration was observed with great devotion in the Christ the King Cathedral, Nayagaon, St. Anne’s Parish, Nabha Sahib, Kalka, Mohali, Panchkula and Togan.
The faithful participated enthusiastically in the Holy Eucharist and various prayerful activities, seeking the intercession of St. Monica for the sanctification of families, the strengthening of parents, and the faith and well-being of children.
The life of St. Monica served as a powerful reminder of the importance of persevering prayer, sacrificial love, and patient accompaniment within the family. Her example encouraged mothers and families to remain steadfast in faith, especially during moments of difficulty and uncertainty.
The observance also provided an opportunity for families and parish communities to come together, strengthen their bonds, and renew their commitment to living the Christian vocation within the family.
