The Diocese of Simla–Chandigarh joyfully celebrated Vianney Day 2026, honouring St. John Mary Vianney, the Patron of Priests, with a beautiful gathering of prayer, fraternity, and recreation at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Sector 19-A, Chandigarh.

The two-day celebration commenced on August 4 with the Holy Eucharist at 6:45 p.m., solemnly celebrated by Most Rev. Dr. Sahaya Thatheus Thomas, Bishop of Simla–Chandigarh.

The celebration continued with a fellowship dinner, providing an opportunity for the clergy to strengthen their bonds of fraternity.

On August 5, the priests gathered for a refreshing day outing filled with recreation, laughter, and togetherness amidst nature. The programme featured swimming, tug of war, nature-based entertainment, creative team-building activities, and various fun-filled games, fostering camaraderie and renewing the spirit of priestly brotherhood.

The celebration beautifully reflected the theme of coming together "To Cherish and To Nourish in Prayer and Fellowship," reminding the clergy that fraternity, recreation, and prayer are essential dimensions of their vocation.

The joyful atmosphere, active participation, and shared moments of fellowship made Vianney Day 2026 a memorable occasion, strengthening the unity of the presbyterate and inspiring all to continue their ministry with renewed enthusiasm and pastoral zeal.

Fr. Dominic Bosco and Fr. Flemin proposed vote of thanks and concluded with the hymn of thanksgiving.
