United in Faith, Renewed in Mission: BEC Leaders Gather in Jhansi for Pastoral Plan 2033
Theme: “Synodality in Action – Pastoral Plan 2033”.
The Northern and Agra Regional BEC Directors’ Meeting was held on 8 and 9 October 2026 at the Pastoral Centre, St. Jude’s Shrine, Jhansi, bringing together regional and diocesan BEC directors and secretaries to strengthen Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) in the spirit of synodality.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Most Rev. Wilfred Moras, Bishop of Jhansi. Rev. Fr. George Jacob SAC, Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for BECs, and Mr. Emmanuel Johnson served as resource persons for the sessions on roles and responsibilities.
The participants shared diocesan reports, reflected on challenges and achievements, and explored ways to strengthen BECs through formation, active participation, effective coordination and shared responsibility.
The meeting resolved to strengthen BEC animation in line with Pastoral Plan 2033, organise regular formation programmes for leaders and animators, and ensure periodic reporting and coordination among dioceses and the region.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to building vibrant BECs and promoting a synodal Church rooted in communion, participation and mission. Gratitude was expressed to the Bishop of Jhansi, resource persons, organisers and participants.
