Participation in SSDNR Capacity Building Workshop

As part of the initiatives of SSDNR (Social Development Network for the Northern Region), a two-day Capacity Building Workshop was organised at Chetanalaya, Delhi, bringing together representatives from the diocesan social apostolates of the Northern Region.

Manav Vikas Samiti (MVS), the Social Work Apostolate of the Simla-Chandigarh Diocese, participated in the programme through:

• Sr. Sangeeta - Chandigarh Social Apostolate Coordinator
• Sr. Sancta – Centre In-charge, Padre Pio Centre, Nayagaon

The workshop focused on strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of diocesan social apostolate teams. Key areas discussed included Safeguarding Policies and Practices, structural formation of diocesan teams, Self-Help Group (SHG) formation, new FCRA regulations, HR policies and organisational strengthening.

The programme also provided an opportunity for participants to share experiences, learn from one another and explore better practices for social ministry. The presence of Rev. Bp. Deepak Valerian Tauro, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Delhi; Fr. R. Jesudass, Executive Director of Caritas India; and Fr. Sunil Cresta, Director of Chetanalaya, added value and encouragement to the programme.

The participation of the MVS team was a valuable opportunity for learning, reflection, networking and strengthening the systems and practices of the Social Apostolate of the Diocese.
