One-Day Spiritual Renewal Programme of Maryam Sena & ICYM Youth – Bathinda Deanery
A One-Day Spiritual Renewal Programme was organised at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Rania, at the Bathinda Deanery level on 12 September 2026, to celebrate the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Maryam Sena, ICYM Youth and parishioners from various parishes of the deanery participated in large numbers, making the gathering a joyful and faith-filled celebration.
The programme began at 10:00 a.m. with prayer and spiritual renewal. Fr. E. Gomes, Fr. Ivo Dias, Dean of Bathinda Deanery, and Fr. Christopher shared inspiring messages that encouraged the faithful to deepen their relationship with God and renew their commitment to Christian life.
Fr. Lino Santiago, Parish Priest of Rania, and Fr. Melito were also present and contributed significantly to the successful organisation of the programme.
A special focus was placed on Evangelization and Proclamation, particularly through the daily family Rosary and Bible reading. As part of the preparation for the Deanery Day, families were encouraged to make a nine-day commitment to pray the Rosary and read the Bible together every day. The faithful were encouraged to make family prayer and the Word of God an integral part of their daily lives, in keeping with the vision of Mission 2033.
The spiritual renewal programme provided an opportunity for the participants to deepen their faith, strengthen family prayer, experience fellowship and renew their missionary commitment. The gathering also fostered a strong sense of unity and devotion to Mother Mary.
The programme concluded at around 2:30 p.m., followed by a fellowship meal (langar), after which the participants returned home safely.
Bro. David Masih, SFX, who was in charge of the programme, expressed his sincere gratitude to Maryam Sena, Masi Yuva Trust, ICYM Youth, the Proclamation Team, the priests, volunteers and all the parishioners for their valuable contribution towards the success of the programme.
The One-Day Spiritual Renewal Programme was a grace-filled experience of prayer, faith formation, fellowship and evangelization, inspiring families and young people to renew their faith and become joyful witnesses of the Gospel.
The celebration concluded with gratitude to God for His abundant blessings and for bringing the faithful together in prayer, unity and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
