Parishes of Simla Deanery Celebrate St. Monica’s Day with Faith and Family Spirit
The parishes of Simla Cathedral, Solan, Baddi, Kullu, Kasauli, Dagshai, Chelsea, and Sundernagar celebrated St. Monica Diwas in a spirit of faith, joy, and gratitude on August 30, 2026.
The celebration was a beautiful occasion to honour St. Monica, a model of a devoted mother, a woman of deep faith, and a persistent intercessor. Her life of prayer, patience, sacrifice, and unwavering trust in God continues to inspire families and Christian communities today.
The parishes marked the occasion with Holy Eucharistic celebrations, special prayers, reflections, and community gatherings, highlighting the importance of prayer and faith within families.
The faithful were encouraged to follow St. Monica’s example by praying continually for their loved ones, nurturing faith in their families, and remaining steadfast in hope even during times of difficulty.
The celebrations also provided an opportunity for families and parish communities to come together, strengthen their bonds, and renew their commitment to Christian values. The participation of children, youth, parents, religious, and parishioners added joy and enthusiasm to the occasion.
The observance of St. Monica’s Day across the Simla Deanery was a meaningful reminder that a mother’s prayer, rooted in faith and love, can become a powerful source of grace and transformation for the family and the wider community.
