National Youth Sunday Celebration of Chandigarh Deanery 2026

National Youth Sunday 2026 was celebrated with great joy, faith, and enthusiasm across the parishes of the Chandigarh Deanery. Through prayer, Holy Mass, fellowship, cultural activities, and meaningful reflections, the day brought together young people and parish communities - reminding the youth of their active role in the Church.

Christ the King Cathedral, Sector 19, Chandigarh
Celebrated under the theme "Take Courage! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33), the day featured a symbolic procession, a sapling representing faith and growth, cake cutting, a Sadri wishing song by the Mahila Sangh, and fun games promoting teamwork and unity.

Holy Family Church, Nabha
The youth took full responsibility for the liturgy — readings, prayers, offertory, and other services - followed by cultural activities that promoted joy, teamwork, and unity.

St. Anne's Parish, Sector 32
The youth were welcomed by the Mahila Sangh with dance and tilak before Holy Mass. The celebration included handmade offerings, a community meal, games, and fellowship — centred on keeping Jesus at the heart of their lives.

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kalka
The parish marked the day with Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Mass, and a felicitation programme by the Mahila Sangh and Purush Sangh. The youth-organised food fest "Daawat-E-Jashn" drew enthusiastic participation from across the parish.

Infant Jesus Church, Mohali
The youth planted a sapling as a symbol of hope and responsibility toward God's creation. Games, gifts, and an open discussion — "What does being a youth mean to us?" — encouraged reflection on faith, dreams, and their role in the Church and society.

Church of Our Lady of Miracles, Togan
The youth led the Holy Mass, participated in creative activities, an action song, oath-taking, and a symbolic thumb-printing activity. They also discussed their Action Plan 2026–2027, focusing on spiritual growth, liturgical service, and community outreach - inspired by 1 Timothy 4:12.

St. Padre Pio Church, Nayagaon
The celebration marked a new beginning with the formal formation of ICYM – St. Padre Pio Youth. Around 17 youth elected their leadership team and actively contributed to the Eucharist. A Pani Puri stall was organised to raise funds for future activities - a joyful reminder that "Youth are not merely the future of the Church; youth are the Church today."

The National Youth Sunday celebrations across the Chandigarh Deanery were a beautiful expression of faith, courage, and unity. Each parish celebrated uniquely while sharing one common message - young people are an important and active part of the Church today.
