Medical Camp Promotes Women’s Health and Well-being in Nayagaon

A medical camp was organized at St. Padre Pio Church, Nayagaon, on 4 October 2026, benefiting 60 women through health education, medical consultations and the provision of medicines.

The camp was warmly welcomed and supported by Fr. Lancy Paul, who invited the medical team to serve the parish community. Dr. Celeste Joseph led the programme, with the assistance of Mrs. Sabina Joseph, Mrs. Seema Gill, Sr. Reena CSSH and Sr. Sheela CSS.

As part of the camp, Dr. Celeste conducted an awareness session addressing important aspects of women’s health and personal well-being.

The session focused on balanced nutrition, personal hygiene and prevention of infections, the harmful effects of frequent consumption of fast food and unhealthy outside food, and common health concerns faced by women. Participants were also encouraged to seek timely medical attention and undergo regular health check-ups.

The awareness session was followed by a medical check-up, during which health assessments were conducted and medicines were provided as required.
A total of 60 women benefited from the health education and medical services offered. The programme was systematically coordinated by Sr. Athulya CSS and the parish community, who made the necessary arrangements for its smooth conduct.

The medical camp proved to be a meaningful initiative in promoting women’s health, healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare.

Parish nurses Rekha and Kirti played an active role, attending to the participants with care and dedication and supporting the medical team throughout the camp. The medical camp proved to be a meaningful initiative in promoting women’s health, healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare.

The warm hospitality of Fr. Lancy, the dedicated service of the medical and nursing team, and the careful coordination by Sr. Athulya and the community contributed greatly to its success.
