Karnal Deanery Organises Green Drive to Promote Ecological Stewardship

As part of the Karnal Deanery Implementation Strategy Meeting on the Diocesan Pastoral Plan 2026–2033, a Green Drive was organised at St. Theresa's Sr. Sec. School, Karnal, reaffirming the Diocese's commitment to the care of creation and environmental sustainability.

Led by Most Rev. Dr. Sahaya Thatheus Thomas, Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh, the programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 102 priests, religious men and women, and lay faithful from across the deanery.

The Bishop inaugurated the Green Drive by planting a sapling and encouraged everyone to make ecological responsibility an integral part of Christian discipleship.

Several saplings were planted on the school campus by the Bishop, priests, religious, and lay representatives as a visible expression of their commitment to protecting God's creation.

The initiative echoed the spirit of Laudato Si' and the ecological vision of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan 2026–2033, calling every parish and institution to foster environmental awareness and adopt sustainable practices.

The Green Drive concluded with a collective pledge to care for our common home and to promote ecological consciousness in families, parishes, schools, and society through concrete action and responsible stewardship of creation.
