Honoring the Pillars of Our Families: Grandparents Day Celebrated at Church of Our Lady of Miracles

NEW CHANDIGARH — On July 26, 2026, coinciding with the Feast of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne—the maternal grandparents of Jesus Christ—the parish family of the Church of Our Lady of Miracles came together in a joyous celebration to mark Grandparents Day. The highlight of the day was a Special Holy Mass organized to extend love, gratitude, and spiritual blessings to the senior members of our community. Around 20 beloved grandparents from the parish attended the Eucharistic celebration, surrounding the altar with their warmth and years of wisdom.

Highlights of the Celebration * Warm Welcome & Special Liturgy: The event commenced with a heartfelt welcoming dance presented by the children of the parish. A thoughtfully prepared liturgy was organized by the Catechism Department and young students, bringing an extra touch of devotion and joy to the Mass. * Honoring Our Grandparents: Following the Holy Mass, a festive cake-cutting ceremony was held in honor of all grandparents present. Each grandparent was felicitated and presented with special gifts as a token of appreciation for their guidance, faith, and unconditional love. * Fellowship & Snacks: The parish youth organized special tea and snacks for everyone, fostering a lively atmosphere of community bonding and joyful fellowship.

Organized with Heart and Leadership The memorable event was held under the guidance of: * Fr. Bibin T. Varghese – Parish Priest * Fr. Rohit Xalxo – Assistant Parish Priest * Pallottine Sisters & Sisters of Destitute Communities of the Parish Their combined dedication ensured that our grandparents felt cherished, celebrated, and deeply valued by the entire parish community.
“Grandparents are the living link between generations, passing down the treasure of faith, wisdom, and love to our children."
