Health Apostolate Initiates Visit to the Sick and Elderly Ministry | Majri (Togan) & Panchkula

In accordance with the guidelines of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan, the Health Apostolate of the Diocese initiated its Visit to the Sick and Elderly Ministry on 30 July 2026 with a visit to Aasara Terminal Care Home, Majri (Togan), New Chandigarh.

The team spent quality time with the eight inmates through prayer, interaction, and fellowship, bringing them comfort, hope, and encouragement. The residents were honoured with love and respect, reflecting the Church's compassionate outreach to the sick and the elderly.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Sr. Justy SD. Fr. Bibin introduced the team and explained the purpose of the visit. Fr. Amritlal led the gathering in prayer for the well-being of the residents, while Fr. John Maria Vianney highlighted the significance of the Health Apostolate's mission of accompanying the sick and elderly with compassion and pastoral care.

The residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude and joy, appreciating the team's presence and expressing their desire for more such visits in the future.

The initiative was coordinated by Sr. Reena CSSH, Assistant Secretary of the Health Apostolate, as part of the implementation of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan. Fr. Amritlal, Fr. Vianney and Sr. Geeta CSSH accompanied the team throughout the visit.

Following the programme at Aasara Terminal Care Home, the team also visited the sick and elderly residing at Ashiana, Sector 26, Panchkula, where they spent time in prayer and interaction, extending the same spirit of care and accompaniment.

The day concluded on a prayerful and fulfilling note, marking a meaningful beginning to the Health Apostolate's ministry of reaching out to the sick and the elderly across the Diocese.
