Golden Jubilee of Consecrated Life Celebrated with Gratitude and Hope

The Golden Jubilee of Consecrated Life of Sr. Shibeena CMC was celebrated with joy and thanksgiving in Mohali. Most Rev. Dr. Sahaya Thatheus Thomas, Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and delivered the homily based on Romans 5:1–5, with the theme “Suffering Produces Endurance, Character and Hope.”

Reflecting on fifty years of consecrated life, the Bishop described the Jubilee as a testimony to God’s faithfulness, perseverance and the transforming power of divine love.

He highlighted how trials strengthen endurance, endurance forms character, and character gives birth to hope.
Bishop Sahaya encouraged Sr. Shibeena to continue being a woman of prayer, peace and hope, and to share her wisdom and experience with the younger generation of religious. He also urged young religious to remain faithful to their vocation, especially during times of difficulty.

Expressing gratitude for Sr. Shibeena’s years of prayer, sacrifice and service to the Church, the Bishop concluded by reminding her that the Golden Jubilee is not an ending, but a new beginning - a golden sunrise into a deeper friendship with Christ.
