From Plan to Mission: Simla–Chandigarh Diocese Advances Synodal Pastoral Journey
The Diocesan Pastoral Plan (DPP) 2026–2033 of the Diocese of Simla–Chandigarh is moving from vision to concrete pastoral action. Following its official launch on 13 May 2026, the Diocese has begun systematic implementation through deaneries, parishes, commissions and pastoral teams.
Deanery Implementation Milestones
The implementation journey has progressed chronologically across the five deaneries:
23 July 2026 – Patiala Deanery: Implementation Strategy Meeting at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Patiala, with the Deanery Implementation Team constituted.
31 July 2026 – Karnal Deanery: Implementation Strategy Meeting at St. Theresa’s School, Karnal, with the Deanery Implementation Team constituted.
6 August 2026 – Chandigarh Deanery: Implementation Strategy Meeting at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Chandigarh, initiating the deanery-level implementation process.
7 August 2026 – Bathinda Deanery: Implementation Strategy Meeting held as part of the diocesan rollout, with the deanery beginning its implementation process.
12 September 2026 – Simla Deanery: Implementation Strategy Meeting at St. Luke’s School, Baddi.
These milestones mark the transition from diocesan planning to deanery ownership and parish-level action.
2026–2027: First Implementation Phase
The immediate focus is on Proclamation, Faith Formation, Catechesis & Liturgy, BECs & Bible, and Media.
Diocesan Follow-up: Deanery Action Plan → Parish Action Plan
The Diocese will accompany the process through Parish DPP Action Plans, deanery review, commission support, quarterly progress reporting and an annual diocesan review, with emphasis on measurable pastoral outcomes.
