“Faith in Action: Knowing, Living and Sharing Our Faith”
Greetings in the name of the Blessed Trinity!
The Diocese will celebrate Catechism Sunday on 20 September 2026, as a special occasion to celebrate our faith, appreciate our catechists, and encourage our children to know, live and share their faith.
On this occasion, we especially remember St. Robert Bellarmine, a great teacher of the faith and Doctor of the Church, who dedicated his ministry to clear preaching, catechetical instruction and the faithful transmission of Christian teaching. May his example inspire us to make catechesis joyful, meaningful and life-giving.

Parish Activities:
All parishes are requested to organize age-appropriate Faith-centred activities for Catechism students, such as:
You may choose any of the following activities or any of your faith-centered activities.
- Bible/Catechism Quiz and Bible Treasure Hunt.
- Gospel-based role plays
- Seven Sacraments and Beatitudes activities
- Saints and Christian virtues.
- Drawing, poster-making and creative faith activities.
- Prayer, Scripture and “My Faith, My Life” sharing.
- Acts of kindness and service.
Apart from the activities:
Appreciation of Catechism Teachers, Catechists & Parents.
Please offer a special prayer and blessing for catechists during the Sunday Eucharist and acknowledge their dedicated service. Parents may also be encouraged to participate, remembering that the family is the first school of faith.
Parish Report
Every parish is requested to send a short report to the Commission for Faith Formation, including:
- Parish/Institution name
- Number of students and catechists
- Main activities
- One or two highlights and outcomes
- Names of coordinators
- 2–3 good photographs
Kindly send the report and photographs to your deanery coordinator for faith formation latest by 4 October 2026.
