Called, Formed and Sent: Eight Lay Leaders Embrace the Mission of Christ..
Eight participants from the Diocese of Simla-Chandigarh took part in the two-day Regional Laity Commission Formation Programme held on August 8–9, 2026, at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Chandigarh.
The programme focused on the baptismal identity, vocation and mission of the laity. Most Rev. Dr. Sahaya Thatheus Thomas, Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh, highlighted the call to holiness and the threefold mission of every baptized Christian as priest, prophet and king.
Rev. Fr. Anil Sequeira reflected on Christifideles Laici, while Mr. Emmanuel Johnson emphasised lay co-responsibility and Mrs. Jennifer Tigga highlighted the role of the laity in building God’s Kingdom.
The participants were enriched through formation, group discussions and action planning, returning with a renewed commitment to active lay participation in the mission of the Church and the implementation of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan.
