Building Communities of Hope: North Region BEC Coordinators Gather in Jammu
A regional-level programme on Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) was organized in the Diocese of Jammu to strengthen the formation, coordination, and mission of BECs at the grassroots level. The programme brought together 35 coordinators from across the North Region, representing various parishes and communities.
Rev. Bishop Ivan Pereira addressed the gathering on the theme of hope and coming together through BECs, emphasizing their role in fostering unity, mutual support, shared faith, and active participation in the life of the Church.
Mr. Emmanuel Johnson conducted a practical training session on the roles and responsibilities of coordinators, effective animation of small Christian communities, and ways to encourage sustained participation.
The programme was a meaningful and enriching experience, equipping the coordinators with renewed enthusiasm and practical skills to strengthen BECs and promote a more participatory and missionary Church at the grassroots level.
