Bathinda Deanery ICYM Youth Meeting - Aug 16, 2026

The Bathinda Deanery ICYM Youth Meeting was held today at St. Anne’s Church, Rania, with the participation of youth and representatives from the different parishes of Bathinda Deanery. It was a joyful gathering of faith, fellowship, sharing and planning for the coming year.

I express my heartfelt gratitude to Reverend Fr. Ivo Dias, Dean of Bathinda Deanery, for his support, encouragement and appreciation of this initiative. I sincerely thank all the parish priests who sent their youth representatives, along with drivers and vehicles. We are grateful that everyone travelled safely and returned safely.

A special word of thanks to Father Rosario, who accompanied the youth, and to the Bethany Sisters and youth animators for their presence and support.

I express my sincere gratitude to Fr. Lino, Parish Priest of St. Anne’s, Rania, the elders and the entire Rania community, who welcomed us warmly and did everything possible to make the gathering successful.

During the meeting, we planned the youth activities for the coming year and discussed upcoming programmes at the Deanery and Diocesan levels. We also shared the challenges faced by youth and discussed practical ways forward.

Since the Diocese of Simla-Chandigarh has dedicated these two years especially to evangelization, we focused on how our youth can actively participate in this mission—through reading the Holy Bible, family prayer, Bible Quiz, faith-formation programmes and strengthening youth groups in every parish.

The youth also thanked Father Melito, the previous Youth Coordinator, for his service and warmly welcomed Bro. David, SFX, as the new Youth Coordinator, expressing their willingness to work together.

The meeting concluded with prayer, thanksgiving and joyful fellowship, followed by a meal. We thank the Lord for blessing this gathering and for the safe journey of everyone.

Heartfelt thanks to each and every person who contributed to making this day successful. May the Lord bless our youth and make them joyful witnesses of the Gospel.
