A New House of God: St. Anthony’s Church Inaugurated and Blessed at Basada
The Catholic community at Basada, Samalkha, celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration and solemn blessing of the newly constructed Church of St. Anthony on 11 October 2026. The church comes under the IMS Delhi Province.
The church was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Ashwin Mathew IMS, Provincial Animator, and solemnly blessed by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Sahaya Thatheus Thomas, Bishop of the Simla-Chandigarh Diocese.
The completion of the church marks an important step in the spiritual growth of the local community. The dedicated efforts and leadership of Rev. Fr. Ashwin Mathew IMS and his team, along with Rev. Fr. Paul Raj IMS, Parish Priest, played a vital role in bringing this vision to fruition.
The occasion was a moment of joy and thanksgiving to the Lord for providing the faithful with a new place of worship, prayer, and fellowship. The community also acknowledges the prayers, support, and contributions of all those who helped make this dream a reality.
The newly blessed church stands as a beacon of faith, hope, and unity, inspiring the faithful to grow spiritually and serve others in the spirit of Christ. May St. Anthony intercede for the community, and may God's blessings be upon all who gather in this sacred place.
