Social Action Apostolate

To proclaim and work for the integral development of every person, defending human dignity, rights, peace and the integrity of creation.

MISSION TRAJECTORY

The Social Work Apostolate seeks to build a participatory, structured, and sustainable system of social ministry, rooted in Gospel values and Catholic Social Teaching, promoting human dignity, justice, and integral development, especially among the poor, migrants, women, youth, and vulnerable families, through trained lay leadership, community empowerment, and institutional collaboration.

Programmatic Strategies

Short Term

2026-2028Foundation
  • Establish social work structures (deanery teams & diocesan resource team).
  • Initiate outreach programs in parishes and begin awareness campaigns.
  • Train deanery leaders and parish social workers (CST, leadership, safeguarding of children).
  • Start livelihood training for youth and women; form initial SHGs.
  • Build initial NGO/CSR partnerships (at least 3).

Medium Term

2029-2031Consolidation
  • Expand outreach to wider population; scale awareness campaigns across all deaneries.
  • Strengthen parish-level social work units (majority of parishes active).
  • Increase trained leaders and social workers across the diocese.
  • Grow SHGs and link families to government schemes.
  • Deepen partnerships (5+ NGOs/CSR) and submit project proposals for funding.

Long Term

2032-2033Expansion
  • Achieve full coverage: all parishes running structured social ministry programs.
  • Reach majority of population through sustained outreach systems.
  • Ensure strong, self-sustaining leadership network across all levels.
  • Scale livelihood impact—significant number of families economically strengthened.
  • Maintain multiple funded projects and long-term partnerships for sustainability.

Our Pastoral Priorities

A self-sustaining social ministry system is in place promoting leadership formation, community-based programs, and collaborative partnerships.

OBJECTIVE 01

Establish social work teams and resource teams.

KPIs

  • By Sept 2026, form 5 Deanery Social Work Teams (25 members).
  • By Dec 2027, establish Diocesan Social Work Resource Team (30 members).
  • By Dec 2028, 40 parishes (57%) have active social work units.
  • By Dec 2033, 100% parishes have functional social ministry teams.

OBJECTIVE 02

Building Capacity of Lay Leaders for Social Action.

KPIs

  • By July 2027, 100% of deanery leaders trained in CST and leadership.
  • By Jan 2028, 80 trained parish social workers (2 per parish).
  • By Dec 2028, at least 50 leaders trained in rights and advocacy.
  • By Dec 2030, at least 150 trained leaders across the diocese.

OBJECTIVE 03

Promoting Community-Based Empowerment and Livelihood.

KPIs

  • By 2028, 300 youth and women trained in livelihood skills.
  • By 2028, form 150 SHGs (1,500 women).
  • By 2028, 25% of families (approx. 3,500 people) linked to schemes/SHGs.
  • By 2033, 50% of families economically strengthened.

OBJECTIVE 04

Strengthening Social Outreach and Awareness Systems.

KPIs

  • By Aug 2027, 30 parishes implement at least 1 outreach program.
  • By April 2028, reach 5,000 people through awareness programs (35%).
  • By Dec 2028, all 5 deaneries conduct annual thematic campaigns.
  • By Dec 2033, 60% population reached through structured programs.

Building Networking, Partnerships and Sustainability Systems.

  • By Jan 2027, establish at least 3 NGO partnerships.
  • By March 2028, 5+ NGO/CSR partnerships active.
